    Erdogan emphasizes the importance of a strong navy

    President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey highlighted the significance of maintaining a robust navy to ensure the peace and security of Turkey. He emphasized the need for a strong navy in both Turkish territorial waters and distant regions to live peacefully in the country’s Blue Homeland. Erdogan announced the commissioning of two submarines, Hizirreis in 2025 and Muratreis in 2026, with plans to strengthen the navy further by commissioning all submarines within the project by 2029.

    In addition to military advancements, Erdogan mentioned the restoration of the MV Savarona and the deployment of indigenous aircraft on Turkey’s national aircraft carriers. He revealed plans for constructing the TF-2000 Air Defense Destroyer to enhance the country’s air defense capabilities from the sea.

    Overall, Erdogan’s focus on strengthening the navy and investing in military technology showcases Turkey’s commitment to safeguarding its territorial waters and national security.
