The suspect reportedly remains at large, after randomly attacking festival-goers in the western German city of Solingen.
Reports of a knife attack during the “Festival of Diversity” in Solingen, Germany have left several people dead. The official death toll has not been released, but local police stated three people were killed and four seriously injured.
Solingen Mayor Tim-Oliver Kurzbach expressed shock and sadness over the attack, with a number of people wounded and killed. The assailant reportedly fled the scene following the random attacks near a market square where live music was being played.
Law enforcement has cordoned off the city centre for investigations. Solingen, with a population of nearly 160,000, was celebrating its 650th birthday with the “Festival of Diversity,” which was abruptly halted due to the tragic events.
