Harris campaign picks Biden official for transition effort

Vice President Kamala Harris has appointed Yohannes Abraham, the U.S. ambassador to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, for a key role in her presidential transition team. Abraham, based in Indonesia, will lead a team to prepare for building a potential administration if Harris wins against former President Donald Trump. With his experience as the former chief of staff for the National Security Council and president Joe Biden’s 2020 transition executive director, Abraham is well-equipped for the task.

At the same time, the General Services Administration is preparing to offer transition support to both the Harris and Trump campaigns. The deadline for formal agreements is September 1st, with the GSA offering office space and administrative support in Washington, D.C. Meanwhile, Linda McMahon and Howard Lutnick will lead Trump’s transition team.

Abraham’s long-standing experience with both Biden and Harris makes him an ideal choice for this crucial role, as he navigates the complex transition process with expertise and finesse.
