Hamas Official Celebrates October 7 Attacks Against Israel, Hamas political bureau official Ghazi Hamad praised the October 7 attacks during a livestream with the pro-Palestinian NGO Masar Badil, stating that they challenged the normalization of ties between Arab states and Israel. The interview, titled “Al-Aqsa Flood and the Palestinian Resistance Today,” saw both Hamad and interviewer Khaled Al-Rehab praise the attacks that saw Hamas terrorists invade Israel and murder over 1200 people. Hamad claimed Hamas targeted the Israeli army while taking civilians hostage, but many hostages were not affiliated with the military. Despite claims of no intention to harm civilians, the attacks resulted in civilian casualties. Hamad also praised the impacts of the attacks on global politics, causing universities and countries to cut ties with Israel. He emphasized Hamas’s rejection of peace with Israel and the movement’s commitment to historical Palestine. Hamad accused Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu of failing in the war and claimed internal divisions were tearing Israel apart.
