In a recent report by a humanitarian group, Israeli settlers have caused the largest displacement wave of Palestinians since October in the occupied West Bank.
According to the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), Israeli settlers have forced 119 Palestinians to flee their homes over the past two weeks, leading to the evacuation of entire families from communities like Al-Farsiya Khallet Khader, Al-Farisiya al-Zu’bi, and Ein al-Hilweh — Um al-Jmal. These attacks included the construction of illegal outposts and the obstruction of access to water sources.
This escalation of violence comes on the heels of a landmark ruling by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) against Israel’s settlements in Palestine. The ICJ called for an end to these settlements, declaring them illegal under international law.
As international pressure mounts on Israel to end its occupation and settlement expansion, experts are urging global leaders to take action. The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has called out the Biden administration for its continued support of the Israeli government, noting that accountability is essential to stop the ongoing violence and displacement of Palestinians.
