US documentary maker criticizes global inaction on Gaza atrocities

Leyla al-Arian, a renowned US-based producer, recently criticized the international community’s inaction against Israeli brutalities in Gaza. As the executive producer of the documentary “Night Won’t End – Biden’s War on Gaza,” she expressed hope that the film would increase pressure on Israel to cease its attacks.

Al-Arian highlighted the US’s significant role in arming Israel, citing the use of American-made bombs in the deadly August 10 airstrike on Et-Tabiin School. She argued that the US could curb Israeli aggression but chooses not to, evidenced by recent weapon sales worth over $20 billion amidst ongoing attacks on Gaza.

The documentary, supported by organizations like Airwars and Forensic Architecture, focuses on specific incidents to expose the impact of US-supplied weapons. Al-Arian also shed light on the challenges faced by journalists in Gaza, where severe shortages and emotional trauma complicate reporting.

Despite these obstacles, Al-Arian commended the resilience of Gazan journalists and emphasized the documentary’s commitment to journalistic integrity. She concluded by urging the international community to take action against Israel’s unchecked violence in Gaza.
