PLA Rocket Force bans 3 universities for bid-rigging
The People’s Liberation Army Rocket Force has accused three universities of bid-rigging and banned them from its procurement process for three years. This move is part of an anti-corruption campaign targeting the military, with several senior officials under investigation. Xian Jiaotong University, Xian Technological University, and Southwest Jiaotong University have been implicated and barred from participating in procurement activities.

The PLA Rocket Force plays a crucial role in China’s nuclear deterrence strategy and efforts to increase pressure on Taiwan.

Other enterprises linked to the universities’ representatives are also prohibited from procurement activities. The universities are accused of colluding in bidding processes with competing bidders, resulting in unfair practices.
The PLA Rocket Force, established in 2015, is a key player in China’s military overhaul efforts. It is also a target of the latest anti-corruption crackdown in the military, with several senior officials facing graft investigations.
