Police in Melbourne are on the hunt for a suspect following a disturbing sexual assault incident in a park. The victim, a woman, was assaulted while running under a bridge in Jacana Reserve.
According to reports, the woman was attacked from behind by an unknown man, thrown to the ground, and sexually assaulted. She managed to escape to the car park where kind passers-by assisted her and called the police.
Despite a massive search effort, including police, helicopters, and dogs, the suspect remains at large. Police believe he was wearing a dark jumper and pants at the time of the assault.
After a thorough investigation, the police have released CCTV footage of a man they wish to speak with regarding the incident. They are urging anyone with information to come forward.
Authorities are also appealing to witnesses or anyone with relevant CCTV or dash cam footage from the area near Jacana Reserve on August 14 to contact Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000.
