New Decrees and Commissions Announced by Chief Administrator of GPAA
In a surprising move, Gola Boyoi Gola, the chief administrator of the Greater Pibor Administrative Area (GPAA), has issued decrees reshuffling county commissioners and establishing new commissions in his government.
Announced on local broadcaster, Pibor 90.3 FM, the decrees saw the dismissal of commissioners for Gumuruk and Pibor counties, with new replacements announced promptly. Notably, Peter Kuzuz Ngangok, previously Deputy Mayor for Administration and Finance, was appointed as the new Verthet County commissioner.
Additionally, Gola established various new commissions within the government, including the Peace and Reconciliation Commission, Relief and Rehabilitation Commission, Land Commission, Human Rights Commission, and Anticorruption Commission. Each commission is led by respected individuals within the community to address their designated purpose.
These administrative changes were confirmed by GPAA Information Minister Oleyo Akwer Nyalus, who noted that the appointments were made based on government prerogative and assured that further appointments would aim for more ethnic diversity.
