BJP-RSS aiming to divide nation, Constitution at risk: Ramesh Chennithala

In a recent address to party workers in north Maharashtra, senior Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala expressed concern over the threat to the Constitution under the current BJP-led government, praising Rahul Gandhi’s efforts to unite the country. He accused the BJP and RSS of dividing the nation along religious and caste lines but commended citizens for preventing the ruling party from gaining 400 seats in the recent Lok Sabha elections, which he believed would have led to constitutional changes.

Chennithala also criticized the Eknath Shinde government for its handling of a sexual assault case in a school in Badlapur, highlighting the rising crimes against women and girls in the state. Former chief minister Prithviraj Chavan emphasized the need for the MVA to win all 15 assembly seats in order to restore Maharashtra’s development status.

Leader of Opposition Vijay Wadettiwar demanded a ‘white paper’ from the Shinde government on industries and projects that have shifted from Maharashtra to Gujarat. The leaders urged for unity and action to address the state’s challenges.
