Recently, a 66-year-old man named Ronald Lee Syvrud from Benson, Arizona, was arrested for allegedly making death threats against Donald Trump on social media. This arrest came on the same day that Trump was visiting the U.S.-Mexico border in the area. The Cochise County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the arrest, stating that Syvrud was taken into custody during a traffic stop as part of the operations plan for Trump’s visit.
Although no social media accounts were found under Syvrud’s name, the sheriff’s office revealed that he had outstanding warrants in Wisconsin and Arizona for various offenses, including driving under the influence, hit and run, and failure to register as a sex offender. This incident occurred shortly after Trump survived an assassination attempt and spoke at a rally in North Carolina behind bulletproof glass.
