Breaking News: Ukrainian drones launch attack on Russian Volgograd region
In a daring move, the Armed Forces of Ukraine conducted a massive drone strike on the Volgograd region of Russia early on Thursday, August 22. The attack caused panic among residents in the town of Kalach-na-Donu, as air defense systems scrambled to intercept the onslaught.

The Ukrainian drones targeted the Marinovka airfield in Oktyabrsky village, resulting in two drones being shot down. Thankfully, there were no casualties, but a fire broke out at a Defense Ministry facility. Air defense systems successfully intercepted most of the drones, preventing further damage.
As a consequence of the attack, seven flights were delayed at the Volgograd airport. Russian Defense Ministry reported that a total of 28 UAVs were destroyed, with other regions also being targeted in the operation.
Volgograd, formerly known as Tsaritsyn and Stalingrad, is a significant city in Russia with a rich history. Home to iconic landmarks like The Motherland Calls statue, the city offers a mix of tourist attractions and historical sites, making it a popular destination for visitors.
