Ronen Bar cautions Netanyahu about West Bank Jewish terror – Israel News

Shin Bet Director Ronen Bar recently expressed grave concerns to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about the rise in Jewish terror activities, particularly the attack on the Palestinian village of Jit. Bar accused National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and others of fueling this violence, citing Ben-Gvir’s provocative actions at the Temple Mount.

Bar emphasized the seriousness of labeling these incidents as Jewish terrorism, as they aim to oppress minority groups and are carried out openly with lethal weapons. He noted that some extremists are even supplied weapons by the government, further complicating the situation.

This escalation of Jewish extremism poses a threat not only domestically but also internationally, tarnishing Israel’s reputation. Bar highlighted the inadequacy of the IDF in handling this growing phenomenon, leading to calls for his dismissal by Ben-Gvir.

Despite disagreements within the government, Netanyahu and other ministers stood by Bar, recognizing the urgency of addressing this issue. The controversy underscores the pressing need for decisive action to combat Jewish terrorism in Israel.
