Romanian prosecutors have detained controversial influencer Andrew Tate in a new investigation involving minors, adding to the human trafficking and rape charges he already faces. Along with his brother Tristan, Tate is being held for questioning by the office for organized crime (DIICOT).
DIICOT executed search warrants in and around Bucharest related to crimes including forming an organized criminal group, trafficking in minors, sexual relations with a minor, and money laundering. The Tate brothers are accused of setting up a criminal organization and sexually exploiting victims.
The brothers have previously been accused of forming an organized criminal network in Romania and Britain. They face other charges including rape, assault, and tax evasion. Despite their controversial and sometimes violent behavior, Andrew Tate gained fame as an influencer, offering success tips and sharing divisive views on social media platforms.
Andrew Tate, known for appearing on “Big Brother” in Britain, was removed from the show after a video showed him attacking a woman. He has since used social media to promote his controversial beliefs, making him one of the most recognized influencers in the world.
