Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky recently asserted the fairness of Ukraine’s operation in Russia’s Kursk region by stating that Ukraine is simply returning the war to where Russia brought it onto Ukrainian soil. Speaking at the 7th International Veterans Forum “Ukraine. Veterans. Unity,” Zelensky emphasized the effectiveness of Ukrainian units in responding to Russia’s invasion.
He emphasized the need to create as many problems as possible for the Russian state within its own territory in order to end the war and expel the occupier. Zelensky highlighted that all operations conducted by Ukrainian forces are part of a systematic defense strategy aimed at ending the war on terms dictated by an independent Ukraine.
The offensive operation in Russia’s Kursk region, initiated on August 6, 2024, has already shown significant progress. Major General Eduard Moskaliov was appointed as the head of the newly established military commandant’s office in Ukrainian-controlled areas within the region, contributing to the disruption of Russian army logistics and depletion of their reserves.
Overall, Zelensky remains steadfast in his commitment to defending Ukraine and ending the conflict on favorable terms for his country.
