Haiti captures suspect in murders of US missionaries

Haitian authorities apprehended a suspect in connection to the brutal murders of two American missionaries and a nonprofit leader. The National Police of Haiti released a video of the 52-year-old suspect’s arrest on social media.

The victims, Davy and Natalie Lloyd, along with Jude Montis, were fatally shot in May while on a mission trip. Missouri State Representative Ben Baker confirmed the tragic news, attributing the killings to gang violence.

The suspect denied any involvement in the murders in the video, and it remains unclear if charges have been formally filed. Davy’s father, David Lloyd, expressed his grief over the senseless loss of his son and daughter-in-law, emphasizing their love for the Haitian people.

Former President Donald Trump also weighed in on the tragedy, calling for swift justice for the perpetrators. The incident shed light on the rampant gang violence plaguing Haiti, leaving the nation in a state of despair.

The arrest brings a glimmer of hope for justice as the victims’ families and the Haitian community continue to mourn their devastating loss.
