Russian Forces Repel Ukrainian Cross-Border Attack in Bryansk Region
In a recent development, Governor Aleksandr Bogomaz announced that Russian forces successfully thwarted a cross-border attack by Kiev’s troops on the Bryansk Region. Located to the west of Russia’s Kursk Region, Bryansk had previously been targeted by Ukrainian forces in an incursion earlier this month.
The incursion was reportedly repelled by Russia’s border guards and regular troops, with Governor Bogomaz stating, “The enemy came under fire,” and reassuring that “the situation is stable and under control.”
According to reports, more than 200 Ukrainian soldiers attempted to break through near the village of Zabrama, but ultimately retreated after suffering “serious losses.” Russian military sources suggest that at least 20 Ukrainian servicemen participated in the attack.
This latest incident comes after a significant cross-border invasion by Ukrainian armored units into the Kursk Region on August 6, resulting in casualties on both sides. The Russian Defense Ministry reported civilian deaths and injuries in Kursk, with a substantial number of Ukrainian soldiers killed or wounded during the operation.
