The ESF recently announced the opening of a new school in 2026 that will cater to 300 students in K1 and K2, with a direct pathway to Year One at ESF Renaissance College. This kindergarten will be aligned with one school, a first for the ESF network. Tuition fees for Renaissance College range from HK$141,300 annually for Year One to Six students.
Despite the lack of details on fees and facilities for the new kindergarten, the ESF plans to close its Tung Chung campus upon the new school’s opening. This move aims to meet the local student quota by promoting graduates from the Sai Sha kindergarten to Renaissance College, an independent school.
With low birth rates in Hong Kong, kindergartens are facing challenges in enrollment. To attract students, the government provides subsidies based on enrollment numbers. The new ESF kindergarten highlights the growing trend of international schools in the city, easing the way for local families seeking alternatives to public institutions.
