A drone attack caused a fire at a military facility in the Volgograd region of southern Russia, according to regional officials and the Ministry of Defense. Governor Andrei Bocharov confirmed the attack on a defense facility in Marinovka, with no reported casualties.
Although Ukraine did not claim responsibility for the attack, tensions have escalated with reports of a ground offensive into Russian territory. Russian social media videos displayed smoke and explosions near the military air base, indicating the intensity of the attack.
The Baza Telegram channel reported that multiple drones were involved, with one wreckage causing a trailer fire near the air base. NASA fire satellites detected fires around the base’s apron, suggesting significant damage to the facility.
