Asian Development Bank (ADB) Country Director Yong Ye met with President Asif Ali Zardari to discuss the bank’s role in Pakistan’s development.
President Zardari praised ADB’s support during floods and highlighted Pakistan’s efforts in climate change by planting mangrove forests. He also acknowledged ADB’s contributions in agriculture, irrigation, and education.
In a separate meeting, outgoing Greek Ambassador Konstantinos Moatsos bid farewell to President Zardari, who emphasized the need to enhance Pakistan-Greece relations.
Additionally, President Zardari urged the government to reduce electricity bills to ease the burden on the public, stating that current rates are unsustainable. He called for immediate relief and a strategy to lower tariffs for the public’s benefit.
Investing in business-friendly reforms was also emphasized by President Zardari to drive economic growth in Pakistan.
