Recent assessments by the Pentagon’s intelligence agency reveal that both Ukraine and Russia lack the military resources to launch significant offensives against each other, indicating a potential stalemate in the ongoing conflict.
Despite receiving additional military aid from the U.S. Congress in April, Ukraine still falls short in ammunition compared to Russia, limiting its capability to launch large-scale attacks. Ukrainian forces are deemed capable of defensive maneuvers but are not yet ready for extensive counteroffensives.
Meanwhile, Russia’s strategy appears to focus on wearing down Ukraine rather than making significant territorial gains. The country may hold onto a buffer zone currently occupied by its troops, but lacks the strength to make advances into key Ukrainian territories like Kharkiv city.
