Divers Find Two Bodies After Superyacht Sinks Off Sicily
Divers searching for six missing people following the sinking of a superyacht off Sicily in a storm have found two bodies, bringing the death toll to three. The missing include UK tech tycoon Mike Lynch and Morgan Stanley International chairman Jonathan Bloomer. Rescuers unloaded a body bag from a rescue vessel at the port in Porticello, where the luxury superyacht sank. The operation to search the seabed confirmed it as a recovery mission. The British-flagged yacht, Bayesian, sank in a storm as it was moored offshore. Civil protection officials believe it was struck by a waterspout. Fifteen people were rescued from a lifeboat by a nearby sailboat, and one body was recovered, identified as the ship’s chef. Six individuals, including Lynch and his daughter, remain unaccounted for. The search and recovery efforts continue as divers work to locate the missing persons.
