Previously, Bennett urged the UN and its member nations not to exclude women and civil society activists from discussions with the Taliban. The Taliban’s decision to bar Bennett reflects a larger effort to limit human rights monitoring in Afghanistan. Despite the ban, Bennett and advocates remain committed to shedding light on the situation in Afghanistan.
