Senator Bernie Sanders Focuses on Healthcare, Campaign Finance, and Gaza Genocide in DNC Speech
During his primetime speech at the Democratic National Convention, Senator Bernie Sanders highlighted his core policy issues, notably focusing on healthcare, campaign finance, and the ongoing genocide in Gaza. Sanders reiterated his support for Medicare for All, emphasizing the need to guarantee healthcare as a human right rather than a privilege. He also criticized the influence of big money in politics, calling out billionaire megadonors, including those supporting Vice President Kamala Harris.
In addition to domestic concerns, Sanders addressed the situation in Gaza, advocating for an immediate ceasefire and the release of Israeli hostages held by Hamas. Emphasizing the devastating toll of the genocide, Sanders called for an end to the war in Gaza, highlighting the high number of Palestinian casualties.
While acknowledging the importance of defeating former President Donald Trump, Sanders maintained his focus on his progressive agenda, diverging from Harris’ positions on key issues.
