The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has identified the body of a crossdresser discovered on Katampe-Mabushi Expressway in Abuja as Ifeanyi Chukwu-Agah Benedict, a 33-year-old man from Afikpo North LGA, Ebonyi State. The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed the identity of the deceased in a statement.
An investigation into the culpable homicide is ongoing, with the police working closely with the deceased’s family to gather essential information. The late crossdresser, also known as Abuja Area Mama, tragically passed away after being attacked on August 7 and dumped along the Banex road in Wuse II, FCT.
Despite initial confusion over the gender of the deceased, further examination revealed his true identity. The community has been assured by the police that updates on the investigation will be shared as progress is made.
In a sad turn of events, the crossdresser was reported to have conducted a live session on TikTok just before his death. The tragedy highlights the vulnerabilities faced by members of the LGBTQ+ community.
