The opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) has called for a Maharashtra bandh on August 24 to protest against the alleged sexual assault on two young girls in Badlapur, Thane district.
MVA allies, including Congress, Shiv Sena, and NCP, decided on the bandh after discussing women’s security and criticizing the BJP-led government’s failures.
All MVA allies will participate in the bandh.

Criticism was directed at the government for delays in registering the FIR, highlighting a rise in crimes against women in the state.
An attendant at the school was arrested for sexually abusing the girls, prompting outrage and protests in Badlapur.
