The Government of Central Equatoria State is actively addressing the issue of land grabbing in the state’s counties as revealed by the commissioner of Juba County, Emmanuel Tete Ezbon. During the swearing-in ceremony of the new Speaker of Juba County Council, Dr. Daniel Jada Marcelo, the commissioner emphasized the need for improved services and urged councilors not to resign en masse.
Highlighting the economic crisis faced by the country, the commissioner emphasized the government’s commitment to providing services to citizens and resolving the long-standing issue of land grabbing. He called for proper planning in land distribution and efforts to tackle problems such as cattle raiding.
The Minister of Local Government, Leon Abi Brown, urged councilors to uphold state laws, especially those related to local governance. The new speaker also emphasized the importance of completing construction works on the new Juba County Council building and urged council members to adhere to the laws of Juba County.
