The attacks targeted oil storage facilities and a power plant in the country’s south, with the Israeli occupation army confirming the strike. A spokesman for the Ansarallah resistance movement condemned the attack, describing it as an attempt to pressure Yemen into stopping its support for Gaza.
Human Rights Watch [HRW] has labeled last month’s Israeli airstrikes on the Hodeidah port as a “possible war crime,” stating that the attacks disproportionately affected civilians and civilian objects. The Yemeni Armed Forces have pledged to continue their offensive until Israeli attacks in Gaza cease.
Israel initiated a brutal campaign in Gaza in October 2023 following a Palestinian resistance group’s Operation Al-Aqsa Storm. This campaign has imposed a near-total siege on the territory, severely restricting the flow of essential supplies such as food, medicine, electricity, and water.
