A girl is fighting for her life in hospital after she was hit by a car in Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.
Emergency services were called to Main Road on Maroochydore about 7.55am where a 12-year-old girl from Alexandra Headland was found in critical condition.
She was rushed to Sunshine Coast University Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police are on scene investigating the crash.
“Initial investigations indicate the girl was riding an e-scooter on the footpath when the Kia 4 pulled out of a driveway onto Main Road and collided with the girl,” police said.
The driver of the car, a 21-year-old woman from Maroochydore, is being questioned.
Main road is closed near the intersection with Hilltop Crescent due to the crash.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
