Brazil’s defense industry is experiencing a boom in sales, with a record US$1.47 billion generated in the first seven months of 2024, surpassing the total sales of 2023. Leading this success are Embraer’s KC-390 Millennium transport and A-29 Super Tucano turbine fighter planes, both designed and manufactured in Brazil.

These aircraft have already generated over US$500 million in exports, with countries like the United States, Denmark, Hungary, Portugal, and Uruguay being major importers. The success of the Brazilian Defense Industrial Base (BID) is attributed to strategic efforts over the past decade, positioning Brazil as a key player in the global defense industry.

The BID includes over 235 companies producing a wide range of high-tech products, contributing to economic development, increased competitiveness, and job creation. With a focus on international cooperation and innovation, Brazil aims to become a leading exporter of defense systems on the global stage.
