Masked police officers in Romania conducted raids at the residence of controversial internet influencer Andrew Tate, who is facing charges of human trafficking, rape, and involvement in a criminal gang exploiting women. The raids were carried out by Romania’s anti-organised crime agency, DIICOT, as part of an investigation into various serious allegations including human trafficking, sexual exploitation of minors, and money laundering.
Andrew Tate, along with his brother Tristan, former kick-boxers and social media personalities, were arrested in 2022 near Bucharest. Despite denying the charges, they have been indicted by Romanian prosecutors and have been under legal scrutiny for months. The recent raids on Tate’s property have heightened the legal battle surrounding the brothers.
Andrew Tate, known for his divisive online presence, has asserted that the accusations against him are baseless and part of a larger political agenda against him. The legal proceedings have also involved extradition requests from the UK over separate allegations of sexual aggression, further complicating the Tate brothers’ legal situation.
