The County Court in Split has rejected pre-trial detention for the deputy director of SIPA, following an international search. Ivana Grizelj Ćorluka, his lawyer, confirmed that Galić voluntarily reported to the local police and a hearing was held requesting his extradition to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Currently, there are no measures taken for pretrial detention or extradition. Galić, who holds Croatian citizenship, is accused of organized crime and abuse of office. His lawyer asserts that he is undergoing treatment in Croatia and has provided all necessary documentation to justify his stay there.
Interpol Sarajevo issued a warrant for Galić based on the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s order and the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s request dated August 8.
The lawyer claims that Galić has submitted valid documentation to the Health Center in Posušje, as well as to the BiH Prosecutor’s Office and SIPA since the beginning of the investigation.
For now, Galić remains in Croatia, awaiting further legal proceedings.
