Russia Forms Military Groups to Respond to Ukrainian Attacks
In response to Ukrainian forces shelling civilian settlements and incursions, Russia has decided to form three military groups within its army. The decision was made at a meeting in Moscow presided over by Defense Minister Andrey Belousov, who ordered the formation of Belgorod, Bryansk, and Kursk military groups along the Ukrainian border.
The officials appointed will be responsible for protecting citizens and territories from attacks. Russian forces are actively repelling Ukrainian troops’ attacks in the Kursk region, capturing soldiers and destroying military equipment.
The conflict escalated when Ukraine launched an incursion, claiming to have captured Russian settlements. President Zelenskyy described the objective as the establishment of a buffer zone, while President Putin condemned it as a terrorist attack.
Recently, Moscow summoned American officials to protest US private military company soldiers entering the Kursk region. The situation remains tense as both sides continue to clash.
