Three suspects accused of stealing $580,000 from President Cyril Ramaphosa’s Phala Phala farm had their case postponed to October. The Modimolle regional court session involved cleaner Floriana Joseph, her brother Ndilinasho Joseph, and Imanuwela David, the alleged mastermind.
The Joseph siblings face charges of housebreaking and theft, while David faces charges of conspiracy to commit housebreaking, money laundering, and an additional money laundering charge. The theft controversy emerged in 2020 and resurfaced in June 2022 when former State Security Agency director-general, Arthur Fraser, accused Ramaphosa and others of concealing the break-in.
Ramaphosa claimed the stolen funds were payment for buffaloes, but his failure to report the burglary to the police sparked suspicions. Floriana and Ndilishano were previously granted bail, and the case awaits further developments in October.
