Mob overwhelms cops, lynches two murder suspects in Bauchi

The Bauchi State Police Command has confirmed the death of three individuals in a case involving conspiracy, armed robbery, and culpable homicide. The incident involved the discovery of a body in Anguwan Agwaluma, Misau town, with a slit throat. The victim, identified as Muhammad Mamuda Baba Jibir, was a 25-year-old commercial motorcycle operator whose motorcycle was stolen by armed robbers.

Two suspects were later arrested with the stolen motorcycle, but they were lynched by an angry mob. The Commissioner of Police condemned this act of vigilante justice and emphasized the importance of following due process. He warned against taking the law into one’s own hands and urged the public to let the police carry out thorough investigations.

The police commissioner emphasized the need for respecting the rule of law and allowing law enforcement agencies to do their job. He reiterated the importance of proper investigation and prosecution of suspects, rather than resorting to violence.
