Interior Minister Mazen al-Faraya Ensures Security for Jordan’s Parliamentary Elections
The Interior Minister of Jordan, Mazen al-Faraya, recently met with the European Union’s election observation mission to discuss the security measures in place for the upcoming parliamentary elections. The government’s role will be limited to logistical support, emphasizing impartiality towards all candidates.
Coordination between the Ministry of Interior and the Public Security Directorate has been highlighted to secure polling stations and vote-counting centers, ensuring a safe voting process for citizens. The Civil Status and Passports Department has also completed legal and electronic voter lists, complying with regulations overseen by the Independent Election Commission.
The EU mission praised Jordan’s preparations for the elections and recognized the Ministry’s efforts to maintain election security. With the collaborative efforts in place, Jordan aims to conduct a fair and secure electoral process for its citizens.
