The Lagos State Taskforce on Environment and Special Offenses, Enforcement Unit, recently apprehended four petroleum products hawkers at Mile-2 area and seized over 2000 liters of the products. This decisive action was taken to prevent the potential hazards of fire outbreaks and traffic congestion caused by their illegal activities.
The operation, mandated by the state government and the Commissioner of Police, was aimed at dismantling illegal structures housing these vendors. The crackdown also targeted suspected criminals who posed a threat to motorists and road users in the area.
With a commitment to ensuring public safety and efficient transportation, the Taskforce will continue to monitor the area and prevent any resurgence of illegal activities. Those arrested will face legal charges, and confiscated items will be turned over to the Lagos State Government.
