Israel’s ‘moral compass’ rationalizes Palestinian rape

The Moral Decay of Israeli Society: A Closer Look

The recent gang rape incident of Palestinian prisoners by Israeli guards at the Sde Teiman detention centre in the Negev has revealed a disturbing truth about Israeli society. Despite the shocking footage, certain sections of Israeli society chose to defend the indefensible.

Following the arrests of the reservists involved in the heinous act, far-right mobs, including government ministers, protested the arrest, justifying gang rape as permissible for the security of the state. The release of some of the accused soldiers shortly after their arrests further highlights the moral decay within Israel.

Israel’s morality towards Palestinians is based on the dehumanization of the Palestinian population and the augmentation of Israelis’ self-image as a moral authority. This sense of moral supremacy, fueled by a belief in their divine right and ‘the world’s most moral army,’ justifies acts of violence and abuse against Palestinians.

As Israel continues to suppress and humiliate Palestinians, the moral decay within its society becomes increasingly apparent. No amount of evidence or accusations seems to prompt self-reflection, raising concerns about Israel’s moral compass.
