Israel’s military has recovered the bodies of six hostages from the Gaza Strip, bringing closure to their families. Among them were Yagev Buchshtab, Alexander Dancyg, Avraham Munder, Yoram Metzger, Nadav Popplewell, and Haim Perry. The rescue operation was carried out by the Israel Defense Forces and the Israel Security Agency.
The Hostage Families Forum emphasized the importance of negotiating a deal to secure the release of the remaining 109 hostages held in Gaza. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is in the Middle East pushing for a ceasefire and hostage release agreement. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has agreed to a US proposal for a deal.
Israeli President Isaac Herzog offered condolences to the families and expressed the need to continue working towards bringing back all the hostages. The military campaign in Gaza was launched by Israel in response to a Hamas attack that resulted in numerous casualties and hostages. The situation remains fragile, with ongoing negotiations for a peaceful resolution.
