The African Union’s health agency has secured agreements with the EU and Danish company Bavarian Nordic to deploy 200,000 vaccines across the continent. While France has not reported any monkeypox cases, Sweden recently identified the Clade 1b variant, linked to a visit to an affected African country.
The virus has taken over 570 lives in the DRC this year, with outbreaks reported in neighboring countries. The global response to this health emergency highlights the importance of cooperation and swift action in facing infectious diseases.
