Elder statesman and leader of the Ijaw Nation, Edwin Clark, recently penned an open letter to the acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Umar Damagun, expressing his concerns about the state of the party. Clark accused Damagun of colluding with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, to destroy the PDP.
Clark highlighted that Damagun’s actions, particularly regarding the crisis in the Rivers State House of Assembly, were against the party’s constitution. He urged Damagun to stop working against the PDP’s interests and allow Nigerians to choose their preferred party through democratic processes.
The elder statesman advised the PDP leader to avoid sacrificing his integrity for personal gains and warned of potential consequences in the future. Clark also called for a probe into Wike’s alleged anti-party activities and insult towards a party chieftain.
