Clearing the Path to Safety: Azerbaijan’s Landmine Clearance Efforts
In a commendable effort, a total of 152,619 hectares of land in previously occupied territories have been successfully cleared of mines and unexploded ordnance by various agencies in Azerbaijan. Led by the Azerbaijani Mine Action Agency (ANAMA), along with support from the Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Emergency Situations, and national commercial entities, significant progress has been made since November 2020 through July 2024.
