The Israeli army successfully recovered the bodies of six captives from southern Gaza’s Khan Younis, as confirmed by the military and the prime minister’s office on Tuesday. The families of Yagev Buchshtab, Alexander Dancyg, Avraham Munder, Yoram Metzger, Nadav Popplewell, and Chaim Perry have been notified of this development.
The Hostages Families Forum, representing most hostage families, expressed gratitude for the retrieval but urged the government to finalize a hostage release deal with Hamas. They emphasized the need for negotiation to secure the return of the remaining 109 hostages held by the group.
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken is currently in the Middle East to facilitate a cease-fire and hostage return agreement between Israel and Hamas. The conflict, which began with a Hamas incursion in October, has resulted in significant casualties on both sides.
