Yitzhak Wasserlauf urges action on Jordan border: Israel News

Minister Yitzhak Wasserlauf urgently called for a government meeting on the issue of mass infiltration from Jordan, citing a recent investigative report showing over 4,000 infiltrators entering Israel. These infiltrators come from various countries, including enemy states, posing a threat to national security.

Wasserlauf compared the situation to the dangerous eastern Philadelphi Corridor and emphasized the need for immediate action. He plans to establish an emergency committee to develop solutions to seal the border and protect Israel’s security.

Increased Iranian activity near the Israel-Jordan border and in the West Bank has raised concerns, with the goal of inciting unrest in the region. Officials believe a regional agreement is necessary to counter Iran’s influence, but negotiations are on hold until after the US elections.
