In a recent report by UNICEF, it has been disclosed that the malnutrition crisis in Yemen has worsened in areas under the control of the Saudi-led coalition. The number of children suffering from acute malnutrition has increased by 34%, impacting over 600,000 children with 120,000 suffering from severe malnutrition.
The rising malnutrition rates are attributed to disease outbreaks, food insecurity, limited access to safe water, and economic decline. The situation is expected to reach alarming levels by October unless immediate action is taken.
The coalition-backed Yemeni government is facing backlash for corruption and mismanagement of public funds, exacerbating the economic collapse, poverty, and famine among the citizens. The dire conditions in Yemen demand urgent humanitarian aid and intervention to alleviate the suffering of innocent children and families affected by the ongoing crisis.
