The government has recognized this issue and published a “Demographic Development Strategy of Ukraine until 2040” to address it. To combat population decline, strategic actions such as establishing a demography ministry, focusing on economic recovery post-war, and providing incentives for young families are essential.
Ensuring access to affordable housing, supporting large families, and expanding kindergarten availability are also critical steps for Ukraine’s future. Despite the challenges, the focus must be on sustaining and growing the population to ensure the country’s prosperity in the long term. Ukraine deserves a thriving future after years of hardship and must prioritize the well-being of its people.
