The JCPOA, initially signed in 2015 between Iran and six other nations, faced a setback when former US President Donald Trump withdrew from the deal in 2018. However, current President Joe Biden has shown a willingness to revive the agreement. Talks have been ongoing since April 2021 between Iran and the remaining parties – Russia, the UK, Germany, China, the US, and France – to reinstate the deal, indicating a possible return to cooperation and diplomacy in the region.
