In the latest developments on Aug. 19, Ukrainian forces have gained control of 92 settlements and over 1,250 square kilometers of Russia’s Kursk Oblast. President Zelensky announced the capture of the town of Sudzha and destruction of three bridges over the Seim River, hindering Russian troop movement.
Furthermore, Denmark pledged a $115 million military aid package to Ukraine, allowing the purchase of new equipment for defense. Germany also delivered an IRIS-T SLS air defense system and other military aid to support Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression.
In the east, Pokrovsk residents have been given two weeks to evacuate as Russian forces advance towards the city in Donetsk Oblast. The situation remains challenging as Russian troops continue to gain ground, putting pressure on front-line areas like Pokrovsk and Toretsk.
