Interim Govt Accuses Hasina of Murder; Law & Order Challenge

Bangladesh’s deposed prime minister Sheikh Hasina and ex-ministers of her cabinet were charged with two new murder cases related to the killings of two individuals during protests against the quota system in government jobs that led to Hasina’s removal from power. A total of fifteen cases have been filed against Hasina since her resignation and departure to India in August.

The cases were filed for the murders of Liton Hasan Lalu and Tarik Hossain during the protests. Hasina, along with other former ministers, was named as an accused in the complaints filed by the victims’ family members.

The interim government formed after Hasina’s exit is facing challenges in maintaining law and order. The newly appointed Home Affairs Adviser emphasized the need to address security concerns promptly and improve the situation.

The cases highlight the lingering unrest and violence in Bangladesh post-Hasina’s resignation, with ongoing efforts to stabilize the situation and ensure justice for the victims.
