Breaking News: Punjab Government Signs Deal with Chinese Solar Company for Solar Panel Plant

The Punjab government has partnered with a Chinese solar company to establish a solar panel manufacturing and assembly plant in the province. The agreement, facilitated by the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) under the Rising Pakistan project, was signed by Punjab’s Minister of Industries and Commerce and the President of AIKO’s South Pacific Region.

This collaboration aims to boost the local solar energy sector and enhance exports, with plans to convert 7,000 tube wells to solar energy and provide solar panels to low-income households. The government has also launched a scheme to offer solar panels to citizens consuming up to 500 units on easy installments.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has initiated a test run of the solar panel financing scheme, ensuring simplified processes for public access. The successful implementation of this project will not only promote sustainable energy solutions but also foster economic growth in the region.
